Top 5 Fat Lip Festival 2018 Picks

Spread across four stages at three venues, Fat Lip Fest is a party for everyone to get involved in. This year the fun comes to Rough Trade, The Lanes and SWX on 28 July with plenty to get excited about. Here are some of the top choices to check out during Bristol’s very own day of rock, pop-punk and alternative.

Mallory Knox

Taking the headline slot over on the Fireball stage is the ever-popular Mallory Knox. On the aftermath of their sub-headline slot at 2000 Trees Festival only a couple of weeks ago, the Cambridge based alt-rock group are proving themselves as a recently changed four-piece. Still stronger than ever, Bristol is very much looking forward to their late-night set to get excited for the after party that will follow.

Press to Meco

Following their successful recent release of sophomore record ‘Here’ to the Fatigue’, the trio are riding on the waves of their growing fan base that continue to push their name up festival and tour date lineups.

Following the success of multiple EP releases in the past year, female-fronted alt-rock group Tigress are fierce and ready for their performance on the new Fat Lip main stage (this year holding residence at SWX following the closure of popular venue Bierkeller earlier this year). If you need a little bit of female power during the day, be sure to check out the fiery Tigress.

This band may have been almost unknown to a large majority of the music community prior to the past couple of years, but they are on the rise. The Manchester titans have scored a slot on Roam‘s intimated UK tour that finished not long ago, as well as appearing at Slam Dunk weekend and due to take over the Heavy Music Awards later in the year. These guys are due to set off very soon and it is exciting to get on board with their upwards journey.

Beyond Recall

This three-piece are no stranger to Fat Lip Fest. Hailing from Bristol, they have found their way onto the lineup for multiple years now. This year they are going to bring their full sounds with songs from their 2017 EP ‘Selfish Scars‘. The group have been floating round the music scene for many years now so it’s about time they got the recognition they truly deserve.
